Alexander McQueen Peep-toe Shoes

A few years ago, me and my friend Coral visited a Temple in Thailand.

We were told to leave our shoes at the entrance and was ushered into a large prayer hall where we had to observe temple protocol by sitting nicely and meditating quietly. While we were getting comfortable on the floor I knelt down. All of a sudden, a Zen Priest came up to me and gestured that I wasn't allowed to show the soles of my feet. I quickly fixed myself so that I wasn't showing my knickers under my too-short-for-a-temple denim skirt. My embarrassed soles were obediently put away for fear of further shame!

The next time I visit a temple in Thailand I must remember (1) not to wear a mini skirt; (2) NEVER wear my McQueens because I'd want to show the world the soles of my yellow McQueened feet and (3) I'd rather die than leave my McQueens at the temple door. Before you can blink, some Thai woman would be selling them at the floating market for a pound and that would be very un-holy... for everyone!
