The August Mayfield Diaries is simply what it says on the tin. I talk about my life in particular and life in general and what's been going on every now and then over the years. It's a very healthy cathartic process for me.
It's not a daily continuum; it's more like a monologue. There have been some months or even years where I've not written very much at all. Funnily enough those years were some of my "normal" years where everything was ticking along nicely and I didn't have very much to say.
There are instances where I have changed people's names to allow people their privacy; naturally not everyone is happy for me to talk about them without their blessing in such a frank way.
Within this diary, we will not always see eye-to-eye, I will not always be correct and I will not always be understood but that's how life is. I do hope that I'm able to identify with some people out there, it would be nice to attract some like-minded people who will laugh, cry and get on their soap box with me and maybe we can share ideas and have a laugh ... a think ... and a moan. Not too much of a moan though, as I'm all for positive thinking and good karma.
While I'm here, I'd like to say thank you to some instrumental people who may not crop up within the pages of The August Mayfield Diaries. Firstly, I'd like to say a massive thank you to John Dalton who created this website; I prayed and he came. Without his input and ideas, this website would not exist. I'd also like to say thank you to Kuwayne Cain who published my early writing many years ago. He spotted my desire to write before I did.
